Uber said it tested a tokenized investment by buying a Franklin Templeton money market fund on a Tuesday and selling it on a Sunday. The company said the test earned 1.5 more days of yield than a traditional fund transaction that would have required a Friday sale. It was a test, not an announcement of a regular investment program.
Franklin Templeton, HSBC, Fireblocks and Tradeweb Markets took part in the test on the Canton Network. HSBC said it could offer the capability in the United States and would consider adding other investment options over time.
