Crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto said 9,803 people submitted 10,092 complaints to UK banks about restrictions on transfers to crypto platforms during a 90-day period between May and August 2026. The complaints came through the group’s online tool. Its report listed Lloyds Banking Group as receiving the most, with 2,297.
The report listed Barclays and HSBC UK as limiting transfers to £2,500 per transaction and £10,000 over 30 days, and six banks as banning crypto-related transfers. It classified Lloyds and Revolut as having no published restrictions despite complaints against them, but Revolut’s support page says transfers to some crypto exchanges are unsupported. Zumo CEO Nick Jones said mandatory regulatory approval planned for October 2027 would not cover access to a business bank account.
