OKXICE reported receiving 16 formal objections from companies, including Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs, to including tokenized versions of their shares on its proposed trading platform. The companies gave no specific reasons. The 16 objections cover about 25% of the 62 companies proposed for the platform.
OKXICE co-chair Andrew Cuomo disputed calling the notices “objections,” saying some companies may want to see how the model works before taking part. OKX and the New York Stock Exchange’s parent, Intercontinental Exchange, have filed the platform proposal with the US Securities and Exchange Commission; the platform is not described as operating yet.
