Democrats win US House, control Congress

Democrats won control of both chambers of the US Congress in the midterm elections. They flipped at least seven Senate seats, according to the Associated Press, and won some House districts where Donald Trump had beaten his Democratic opponent by as much as 18 percentage points in 2024.

Democrats will take control of House committees in January 2027, giving them power to issue subpoenas and investigate Trump’s administration, family and business interests, according to NBC News. The result could change the outlook for crypto legislation and bring more scrutiny of Trump-linked digital asset businesses.
