HTX agrees to halt unlawful crypto promotions

Crypto exchange HTX agreed to stop unlawfully promoting its services to UK consumers under a settlement announced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA said HTX no longer accepts deposits from UK customers or lets new users there sign up. Huobi Global S.A., the company behind HTX, promised the High Court it would not knowingly run illegal promotions through its website, apps or social media until October 21, 2031.

The settlement was dated October 16 and recorded in an October 27, 2026 court order. Its terms are confidential, and Huobi Global did not admit liability or wrongdoing. The FCA brought the case in October 2025 and said it was its first enforcement action against a crypto firm over illegal marketing.
