Revolut secures Gibraltar crypto license for global expansion

Gibraltar’s Financial Services Commission granted a cryptocurrency services license to Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited, a new Revolut subsidiary, according to a company announcement. Revolut plans to use the license to expand its crypto services beyond the UK and European Economic Area, but has not announced which countries it will enter or when services will launch.

Revolut already offers crypto services in the UK and European Economic Area through separate entities. Its Dubai crypto-services approval remains in principle, while its US approval to establish a bank offering digital asset custody and crypto-related payments is preliminary and conditional.
