Actor Anthony Boyle contacted former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried by email in prison while preparing to portray him in Netflix’s planned series “The Altruists,” Vanity Fair reported. Boyle said he promised not to disclose their exchange; Bankman-Fried reportedly answered most of his questions.
A Netflix trailer suggests the series focuses on Bankman-Fried’s relationship with Caroline Ellison, who headed Alameda Research, but that description is based on the trailer. Bankman-Fried was convicted of seven felony counts related to the misuse of FTX customer funds and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
