What do US midterms mean for crypto?

US voters were set to choose all 435 House seats and fill 35 Senate seats in midterm elections that could change control of Congress. Republicans held both chambers before the vote. A change in control could alter the prospects for the stalled CLARITY Act, but the bill had already failed to advance in the Senate under Republican leadership, falling short of the 60 votes required.

Crypto industry groups spent roughly $176 million across more than 100 races this election cycle, according to an Oct. 27 Reuters report. Analysts cautioned that Bitcoin’s declines after past midterms offer little basis for predicting its price after this vote.
