TON TVL Surge: Telegram Mini Apps Impact

Telegram’s endorsement of blockchain development has significantly boosted user activity on The Open Network (TON), with total value locked (TVL) surpassing $319 million. Since late February, TVL has nearly doubled, reflecting a surge in user deposits.

TON’s ecosystem has rapidly expanded, supported by Telegram’s integration of crypto-related offerings. The platform now hosts diverse on-chain protocols, including derivatives, exchanges, lending services, liquid staking, gaming, and privacy solutions.

A standout feature is the rise of “mini-apps” within Telegram that leverage TON’s open-source software development kit. These mini-apps, used by web3 games, benefit from access to Telegram’s 900 million users and minimal advertising costs. Projects like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin have thrived, with the former gaining over 19 million daily active users in under three months.

Additionally, Telegram’s support for Tether (USDT) and an inbuilt Wallet app has simplified crypto transactions, enhancing user participation. As a result, TON is emerging as a major hub for blockchain activity, marking a significant milestone in the mass adoption of crypto technology.

These developments underscore Telegram’s strategic role in shaping the future of blockchain and decentralized applications.
