Crypto asset manager Grayscale is launching a new fund focused on decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) projects, according to a July 17 statement. The Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund LLC aims to provide investors with access to the growing AI sector within the crypto ecosystem.
The fund will rebalance quarterly and include various AI crypto protocols such as Bittensor (2.92%) and Filecoin (30.59%). Other assets include Livepeer (8.64%), NEAR (32.99%), and Render (24.86%).
This initiative stands out by targeting three main categories: decentralized AI services, protocols addressing centralized AI issues, and essential AI development resources. Grayscale’s Head of Product & Research, Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, emphasized that blockchain-based AI protocols can help mitigate risks associated with AI technology.
The AI sector has seen explosive growth, with the overall market surpassing $184 billion in 2024 and projected to exceed $826 billion by 2030. This investment underscores Grayscale’s strategic commitment to leveraging the burgeoning AI and crypto markets for long-term gains.
