Metaplanet disclosed that Capital Research and Management’s reported voting stake reached 11.11% as of October 16, 2026, crossing 10%. Its October 23 notice put the investment adviser’s reported holding at 143,301,084 shares, up from 125,455,820 shares and 9.32% on September 8. Metaplanet relied on the investor’s change report and said it had not independently confirmed beneficial ownership.
The higher percentage reflects both the larger reported holding and a reduced voting-rights total after Metaplanet’s October 14 buyback. The difference of 17,845,264 shares between the reported holdings does not date individual trades or establish a new corporate Bitcoin purchase. Metaplanet said it repurchased 73,981,400 shares for ¥19.309 billion; its wider programme allows purchases of up to 200 million shares and ¥60 billion from October 14, 2026, to October 13, 2027.
