Circle Details CCTP Path for Non-USDC Tokens

Circle published an October 30 developer guide explaining how issuers can use its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol infrastructure for ERC-20 tokens other than USDC. It describes issuer-controlled burn-and-mint transfers, with Circle’s Iris service attesting messages between source and destination contracts.

The Arc Testnet example is a walkthrough, not a promise that every ERC-20 can move across every network in production. Issuers must configure controls such as trusted domains, roles, caps and rate limits, and developers must check contracts and fees for each route. Circle says it is not the issuer or guarantor of third-party tokens; developers remain responsible for token permissions, legal obligations and transfer risks.
