HTX Ends UK Activity; FCA Secures Undertakings

The UK Financial Conduct Authority said in an October 29 announcement that HTX had ceased UK activity following a settlement in litigation over cryptoasset promotions. The FCA said it had secured High Court undertakings that HTX would not knowingly promote cryptoasset services unlawfully to UK consumers. The settlement does not constitute an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Huobi Global or anyone else.

New UK customers cannot register, deposits are no longer available, and HTX will not target or actively seek UK consumers, the regulator said. Existing customers are directed to HTX’s published arrangements for residual assets; the announcement gives no universal deadline or promise of instant processing.
