Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin filed a lawsuit against Kalshi on November 4, 2026, alleging that it offers residents an illegal, unregulated gambling platform. The suit accuses KalshiEX LLC and Kalshi Inc. of violating the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and seeks restitution, penalties, taxes and an injunction. These are allegations, not a court finding.
Kalshi is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and has argued in other cases that its event contracts fall under exclusive federal authority, beyond state gambling laws. Federal appeals courts have split on whether states can regulate its sports contracts, and New Jersey has asked the Supreme Court to resolve the issue.
