Elon Musk mocked OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on X after Altman argued that scarce DRAM would be better used in AI data centers than in home computers. Altman said home computers may use that memory only 5% of the time and that cloud systems could use it more fully. Musk replied with a meme accusing people of “withholding DRAM from the cloud” and wrote that people deserve their RAM too.
The exchange follows a longer dispute between the OpenAI co-founders. A federal jury in California rejected Musk’s $150 billion lawsuit against OpenAI in May, finding the defendants not liable on all claims.
