Report: Hollywood Studios Ban Staff Prediction-Market Betting

Hollywood studios and production companies have issued guidelines barring employees from betting on prediction markets using inside information, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The warnings cover studio earnings, casting decisions and release dates, and prohibit staff from passing information to others so they can bet. At least one company has reportedly set up an anonymous hotline for employees to report suspected betting by colleagues.

Columbia University law professor Joshua Mitts told the outlet that bets on blockchain-based platforms can be “basically impossible” to trace if traders use a mixer correctly and conceal their identities through multiple layers.
