Billionaire investor Mark Cuban sold over 14 NFTs worth $38,500 amid a hacker compromising his Gmail account. The 65-year-old sold his Pudgy Penguins NFT #6239 for over $30,000, according to his OpenSea wallet “markcuban.eth.”
Other notable sales included EulerBeats Genesis and DeepBlack NFTs, with prices ranging from $22 to $1,846. Cuban listed additional premium NFTs, potentially bringing his total sales to over $100,000 within two days.
On June 23, Cuban reported the hack, claiming an individual mimicked Google’s recovery procedures. By June 25, he regained control of his account and thanked Google’s team. The connection between the hack and NFT sales remains unclear.
Despite the NFT market slump, Cuban has been a staunch advocate, comparing its potential to early Amazon and Microsoft. His recent actions may reflect strategic adjustments to market conditions.
