Hackers Steal $19.3 Million from UwU Lend #Security

UwU Lend, a decentralized lending platform, was hacked, resulting in a loss of $19.3 million. The exploit, reported by blockchain security firm Arkham, underscores ongoing security vulnerabilities in the DeFi sector.

Blockchain data shows the hacker transferred funds through multiple wallets and used Curve LlamaLend for “exit liquidity.” Tokens like wrapped ether (WETH), wrapped bitcoin (WBTC), and stablecoins were siphoned and traded on Uniswap.

UwU Lend, which uses open-source AAVE v2 code and offers lending, borrowing, and staking services, has never been hacked since its 2022 inception. The team has paused the protocol and is investigating the breach.

This incident highlights the critical need for enhanced security in decentralized platforms to protect digital assets and maintain user trust.
