Coinbase Denies Hack Amid Reported 70,000-User Leak

Coinbase denied that its systems were breached after blogger DelCrxpto alleged on Oct. 28, 2026, that attackers had obtained contact details for more than 70,000 customers. Coinbase confirmed a security incident at analytics provider Amplitude that affected a small portion of its customers’ contact details, as well as those of other Amplitude clients.

Coinbase said it found no evidence of unauthorized access to its systems and that customer funds were not affected. It did not disclose how many customers were affected, what data was exposed or how the incident occurred, so the claim of more than 70,000 affected customers remains unconfirmed. Coinbase said it is notifying affected customers and relevant regulators.
