Distributed Denial of Secrets published its Icepick dataset on October 28, listing work details for 41,191 Department of Homeland Security employees and contractors. The archive includes 21,329 people from Customs and Border Protection and about 10,000 from ICE. A sample of names has been matched to other records, but the full archive has not been verified; some entries are already out of date.
The nonprofit says a hacktivist group called the Department of Peace supplied the records and claims it took them from an Okta login service used by DHS. Okta says it has no evidence its systems were compromised. DHS says it is aware of a potential breach and filed a takedown notice. The searchable site later stopped loading and showed a registrar hold.
