Wallets linked to a suspected Binance hack received tens of thousands of ETH through Uniswap contracts and borrowed 19,762 ETH on Aave against about $60 million in USDT, according to blockchain records. The report found no sign of a flaw in either app. Binance said it was investigating after at least $5.5 billion was drained from wallets linked to the exchange, but did not confirm that user funds were affected.
Stablecoin providers have frozen more than $2 billion in USDT and USDC, and Binance co-CEO Yi He said Ripple had frozen about $200 million in RLUSD. ETH has no issuer that can freeze it. About 253,000 ETH, worth roughly $570 million, remained in two wallets with no outgoing transfers as of 22:07 UTC. Aave has frozen its V3 markets on Ethereum mainnet, blocking new deposits and borrowing.
