Garanti BBVA has launched a cryptocurrency wallet for its customers in Turkey, enabling them to buy, sell, and store Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USD Coin (USDC) securely. This marks the first time a bank subsidiary in Turkey has independently created and launched a cryptocurrency wallet.
Garanti BBVA Digital Assets offers this service through its mobile platform, Garanti BBVA Crypto, now available to all users after initial beta testing. The wallet, accessible on the App Store for iOS, includes enhanced security features and digital payment capabilities.
In 2022, hackers stole over $3.8 billion in crypto, highlighting the need for secure custodial services. Traditional banks, like Garanti BBVA, are stepping in to provide reliable platforms for managing digital assets.
