Drift-Exploit-Linked Wallet Sends Ethereum to Tornado Cash

Wallets tied to the April 1 Drift Protocol exploit deposited 25,700 ETH, worth about $61.56 million, into Tornado Cash over roughly two hours, according to Arkham Intelligence transfer data. Arkham still shows 81,454 ETH, worth about $198.58 million, across 71 addresses linked to the attacker. The deposits followed a July 23–24 round in which a linked address sent about 23,095 ETH to the mixer.

Drift puts the amount taken in the exploit at $295.7 million. Drift opened claims for its DFX recovery token on Oct. 1, issuing one token per USDT of verified loss. Its recovery pool held about 3.1 million USDT at launch, so early redemptions paid roughly 0.0104 USDT per token—about a penny per dollar lost.
