OpenAI is rolling out GIF generation inside ChatGPT, according to The Verge. Users can reportedly create animations from text prompts or uploaded photos, then edit and share them. The rollout is gradual: the feature was unavailable on the reporting outlet’s accounts during testing, and OpenAI has not given a date for when all accounts will have access.
The feature reportedly uses Images 2.6, a model OpenAI has not formally announced. The Verge says OpenAI is bringing the model to ChatGPT and Codex on web, desktop and mobile platforms. The reporting outlet said it could not independently test the model’s performance.
