Ethereum L2 Blast to Wind Down, Sets Withdrawal Deadline

Blast said it will shut down its Ethereum layer 2 network because operating costs exceed the revenue it generates. The team gave no figures for either and said it sees no viable path to sustaining the network.

Blast asked users to move assets to Ethereum mainnet before October 26. Its normal withdrawal interface, including for balances in its progressive web app, will work until then; afterward, users must withdraw through bridge contracts on Ethereum. Withdrawals will first pause for about a week while Blast unwinds assets held through Lido, then resume with a 24-hour delay. Blast said it will provide withdrawal instructions before closing the normal interface.
