Ethereum Launches Fusaka Upgrade with $2M Bounty

Ethereum’s Fusaka Upgrade Scheduled for December Launch

  • Mainnet activation for the Fusaka upgrade is planned for December 3.
  • Test network upgrades will occur in stages, starting with Holesky on October 1, Sepolia on October 14, and Hoodi on October 28.
  • Blob capacity is expected to more than double within two weeks after Fusaka activation, improving scalability.
  • The first Blob Parameter Only (BPO) fork will increase blob targets from six/nine to ten/fifteen on December 17.
  • A $2 million security contest is currently running until October 13 to identify vulnerabilities in the upgrade.

The upcoming Fusaka upgrade aims to enhance Ethereum’s performance and reduce costs for Layer-2 rollups through the introduction of temporary data containers known as blobs. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to improve network scalability and security.

With a mainnet launch date set for December and a significant bug bounty program underway, Ethereum developers are poised to implement crucial enhancements this year. (Source)
