Seven Crypto Projects Support SEC Crypto Regulation

Ripple filed a comment letter supporting the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets rules, which have not been finalized. Ripple said the proposal follows the Howey test by treating an investment contract, rather than the crypto asset itself, as a security. The proposed rules would also create fundraising exemptions for crypto issuers raising capital in the U.S.

The official comment period closed on October 20, 2026, but the SEC will continue accepting comments after the deadline, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett. Separately, Chainlink and other projects urged the SEC to codify its digital commodity framework, while the Blockchain Association called for raising a startup exemption limit from $5 million to $10 million.
