Interpol has issued a red notice for Wong Ching-kit, a Hong Kong crypto promoter, over an alleged $384,000 crypto fraud. Wong, known as the “Coin Young Master,” is wanted for fraud and two counts of theft related to a HK$3 million deception case.
Wong has been under scrutiny since early 2019 for defrauding investors through a crypto mining hardware scheme linked to a token called “Filecoin.” His whereabouts are currently unknown. The red notice serves as a global alert to locate and provisionally arrest individuals pending further legal action.
Notably, in September 2022, Interpol issued a similar red notice for Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, who was arrested in March 2023. This highlights the agency’s ongoing efforts to tackle international crypto crimes.
Interpol’s action underscores the increasing vigilance and international cooperation required to combat crypto fraud, emphasizing the strategic importance of global law enforcement collaboration in the digital age.
