Falcon Labs Fined by CFTC for Crypto Violations

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has settled charges with Seychelles-based Falcon Labs, Ltd. for operating as an unregistered futures commission merchant (FCM) in a landmark case. This marks the first instance the CFTC has charged an unregistered FCM for facilitating access to digital asset exchanges. From October 2021 to March 2023, Falcon Labs bypassed necessary FCM registration, soliciting U.S. customers to trade digital asset derivatives, leading to a penalty of $1,768,512 in total fines. This action underscores the CFTC’s commitment to enforcing registration requirements and maintaining market integrity in the evolving digital asset space.
