The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the NBA signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at protecting professional basketball’s integrity in prediction markets. They will regularly share information and discuss issues affecting market participants; the cooperation is expected to help identify potential insider trading, fraud and other misconduct.
The NBA is the third major U.S. professional sports league to make a similar agreement with the CFTC, after Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League.
