Standard Chartered Launches Custody for RLUSD Stablecoin

Standard Chartered announced that custody support for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger is live for eligible institutional clients through its DIFC Branch in Dubai, which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group to make RLUSD eligible collateral and extend its collateral mirroring model to LMAX. Under that model, LMAX would reflect the value of eligible RLUSD collateral without the tokens being transferred directly to its trading venue. Those capabilities are planned, not live, and remain subject to final documentation, testing, applicable laws and regulations, internal approvals and jurisdictional readiness.
