Cardano Launches $30M for Real Liquidity

Cardano Proposes $30 Million Budget to Enhance DeFi Infrastructure

  • On Nov. 27, Cardano proposed allocating 70 million ADA tokens (approximately $30 million) for onboarding essential DeFi infrastructure.
  • The initiative is supported by Input Output, EMURGO, the Cardano Foundation, Intersect, and the Midnight Foundation.
  • Currently, Cardano has about $248 million in total value locked (TVL) and roughly $40 million in stablecoins.
  • In contrast, Ethereum holds over $170 billion in stablecoins, highlighting a significant gap in liquidity.
  • The budget aims to create a structured approach for integrating top-tier vendors and services into the network.

This proposal comes as Cardano seeks to strengthen its economic infrastructure and address its current limitations in decentralized finance (DeFi). The coordinated effort aims to attract liquidity and institutional tools necessary for growth within the ecosystem.

If successful, this initiative could significantly increase Cardano’s TVL from $248 million towards a target of $500 million by enhancing its DeFi capabilities and attracting more stablecoin liquidity.(Source)
