Cardano’s Voltaire Era Begins with Blockchain Upgrade #Crypto

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced that the blockchain is nearing its “most significant milestone” with the Chang fork, setting the stage for the “Age of Voltaire.” In a June 9 social media post, Hoskinson stated that the Cardano Node is set to reach version 9.0, making it ready for the upgrade once 70% of SPOs install the new node.

The Chang upgrade will be pivotal for Cardano, introducing tools and infrastructure to support self-sustainability. Voltaire will allow network participants to propose improvements and vote on them, using the existing staking and delegation process. It will also establish a treasury system funded by transaction fees to support future development.

Once operational, Cardano will be fully decentralized, no longer managed by IOHK, and guided by its community. Hoskinson emphasized that this milestone would position Cardano as a decentralized global civilization with advanced governance.

While ADA holders are concerned about the cryptocurrency’s price, which recently fell out of the top 10 by market cap, Hoskinson remains confident in Cardano’s robust fundamentals, predicting positive growth.

This upgrade is strategically crucial, as it marks the transition to a fully decentralized and community-driven network.
