Cardano Leios Throughput Plan Requires Votes, Tests

Input Output’s October 20 roadmap lays out a staged plan to bring Leios scaling to Cardano, rather than an immediate capacity increase at the Dijkstra hard fork. Dijkstra is intended to add the necessary rules, but stake pools must register additional voting keys before Leios can operate as planned.

The roadmap targets an initial three-to-fivefold increase over the current Praos throughput ceiling, followed by changes aiming for ten to fifteen times that baseline. These are targets measured in transaction kilobytes per second, not guaranteed payment counts or activation dates. Higher throughput would depend on live-network tests and governance-approved parameter changes.
