Polygon Labs detailed payment controls for its Open Money Stack on October 21. It said an application can authorize a defined payment job while limiting an automated agent to an approved stablecoin budget, specified actions and an expiration time. Polygon described agents buying API calls, compute capacity or digital services without a new human signature for every permitted small purchase.
The controls do not eliminate risk: a broad authorization could still permit unwanted payments, and an agent could misread a vendor or invoice even when a transfer stays within its limit. The source does not establish real-world usage or long-term economic results; those would require further evidence.
