Bitcoin circles $81.5K ETF basis; stocks fall

Bitcoin stayed below $82,000 around Thursday’s Wall Street open, with BTC/USD touching $81,256 on Bitstamp, down 2.9% on the day. US stocks also fell as President Donald Trump said the US was “not negotiating” with Iran and raised the possibility of military action; the S&P 500 was down 1.3% and the Nasdaq 2.3% at the time of writing.

Bitfinex Alpha analysts forecast that Bitcoin would trade between $81,300 and $84,400 until the Federal Reserve’s Oct. 28 rate meeting. They said sustained ETF demand and stable leverage could support a break above $84,400, while a close below $81,300 alongside broader economic pressures would raise the risk of a move toward $79,821.
