Metrics hint Bitcoin rebound after Binance-hack liquidations

Bitcoin traded above $77,000 after falling as low as $76,320 amid reports of a $6.3 billion hack of Binance. Binance said the attack involved more than one security breach and that it was still gathering facts. It said it would cover all user losses through its SAFU fund and other company resources.

Crypto trader liquidations reached $1.56 billion over 24 hours, including $1.31 billion in long positions, according to CoinGlass. The report also cited losses in US tech stocks as pressure on crypto markets. Bitcoin’s four-hour relative strength index showed a bullish divergence, which can signal weakening selling pressure but does not establish a price reversal.
