Analysts: Elections Fuel Surge in Bitcoin Bearishness

Santiment recorded worsening sentiment toward bitcoin as the Nov. 3, 2026, U.S. midterm elections approached. It said bearish comments again outnumbered bullish ones: the ratio of bullish to bearish comments was 0.51, down from about 1.8 on Oct. 20.

Santiment said retail traders feared that stronger Democratic control could add pressure and uncertainty to the crypto market. Preliminary election results pointed to Democratic gains in both chambers of Congress, but ballot counting was still underway. Santiment said a short-term bitcoin rebound could become more likely if the price held between $76,500 and $77,000 amid strong bearish sentiment; it did not report a rebound.
