AnchorWatch Opens Bitcoin Custody With Lloyd’s-Backed Insurance

AnchorWatch Trust Company has launched a Nevada-chartered Bitcoin custody service with two key-control options: one in which it controls the keys required for custody while clients can retain additional signing authority, and another that splits key control among AnchorWatch, BitGo and CoinCorner.

The firm says eligible customers can apply for insurance backed by Lloyd’s of London syndicates. Its launch announcement cited a possible limit of up to $370 million per client, but coverage requires underwriting approval and depends on individual policy terms; it is not automatic. AnchorWatch is offering fixed-dollar custody charges capped at $10,000 a month, with insurance priced separately.
