Circle announced on October 23 that its Gateway cross-chain balance service now supports cirBTC and EURC alongside USDC. Circle’s documentation lists cirBTC routes on Arc and Ethereum, and EURC routes on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana and World Chain. Each asset has a separate balance: Gateway does not convert one asset into another, and a token’s availability on a network does not itself make that network a Gateway route.
Circle’s claim of cross-chain access in less than 500 milliseconds applies only after a deposit has finalized and a balance has been established. Gateway offers a withdrawal route that does not depend on Circle’s API, but it has a seven-day delay. The new assets also work with Nanopayments, though payments in assets other than USDC are limited to Ethereum Virtual Machine networks.
