Why Major US Companies Resist Stock Tokenization

Forty-nine of the 62 companies originally targeted for OKXICE’s planned tokenized-stock platform have objected to having their shares included, according to the excerpt. They include Amazon and Tesla. The companies have not detailed their reasons, so their objections cannot be attributed to a specific concern.

MEXC CEO Vugar Usi Zade said he believes issuers are worried about the risks of products they did not develop carrying their names. He forecast that the tokenized equity market would exceed $25 billion by 2027 and that trading volume on major exchanges would surpass crypto spot volume within three years.
