Coinbase Sets Oct. 30 EEA Restricted-Stablecoin Deadline

Coinbase warned retail customers in the European Economic Area to withdraw affected non-MiCA-compliant stablecoins by October 30, 2026. The policy is limited to Coinbase EEA retail customers, and buying, selling and converting the affected assets on Coinbase are restricted. Supported withdrawals remain available for customers who want to hold them elsewhere.

Coinbase says it will convert remaining affected balances on October 30, 2026, into USDC where suitable, or another supported asset or currency where not. Conversion at the prevailing market rate does not guarantee recovery of a stablecoin’s precise face value. Coinbase also warns that unsupported deposits after the deadline will not be credited, and recovery is not guaranteed even where technically possible.
