OKXICE identified 16 companies, including Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs, that formally objected to its proposed tokenized stock listings. The objections appear in a public notice updated October 19, 2026; the source does not say when they were filed. OKXICE’s temporary SEC exemption lets issuers object to third-party tokenization of their shares.
The proposal would use tokens backed by shares held through a registered broker-dealer, with dividend and voting rights. The notice does not explain why the companies objected or show that they oppose blockchain-based securities generally. At an Oct. 20 press conference, OKX board member Andrew Cuomo defended the plan and described the regulatory framework as an experiment in which companies can choose whether to participate.
