Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission filed a criminal complaint against Bitget operator BG Limited and promoter Kritsana Kritsananuwat, alleging they ran or helped promote an unlicensed crypto exchange for Thai customers. The SEC said investigators will examine the allegations before prosecutors decide whether to pursue charges; any adjudication would be up to the courts.
The SEC also requested restrictions on access to Bitget’s website, related domains and app, scheduled for Dec. 5. It urged users holding assets on Bitget to make arrangements before the deadline and warned that customers of unlicensed exchanges may lack protections available through regulated operators.
