Walmart, Eli Lilly, Cigna, Carnival Corporation and Arcos Dorados objected to having their shares tokenized on OKXICE’s proposed trading platform, according to an updated public notice dated Oct. 28. That brings the number of objecting companies to 38 of the 63 initially targeted, or about 60%. The notices do not give the companies’ individual reasons.
OKXICE proposes to let eligible investors trade tokens backed by U.S. shares around the clock using stablecoins. The platform has not launched, and the objections could limit its initial selection of stocks.
