Jonathan Steinberg, CEO of WisdomTree, believes crypto is going mainstream, especially with increased regulatory clarity. In a CNBC interview, he highlighted Bitcoin’s (BTC) impressive 15-year performance, making it the best-performing asset, even outpacing private equity.
Steinberg praised former President Trump’s pro-crypto stance during his speech at the Bitcoin 2024 conference, noting it adds significant political support. Trump’s promise to provide regulatory clarity could positively impact the crypto asset class and blockchain-enabled finance.
WisdomTree, which manages over $109 billion in assets, reported $1.9 billion in net inflows for U.S.-listed ETFs in Q2 2024. Its spot Bitcoin ETF, BTCW, holds over $89.3 million in Bitcoin.
Steinberg emphasized that with better regulation and products like crypto exchange-traded funds, digital assets will continue to gain mainstream acceptance.
