CrowdStrike Launches Kill Switch, Plans Fiddler Acquisition

CrowdStrike launched an AI Kill Switch that lets security administrators block unauthorized AI agents through AI gateways. The available feature cuts off an agent’s access to the models that guide its decisions; direct termination on endpoints and broader restrictions across other systems are still planned, with no release date given.

CrowdStrike also signed an agreement to acquire Fiddler AI, whose software monitors agent behavior and traces automated decisions. The Wall Street Journal put the deal’s value at about $400 million, but CrowdStrike has not disclosed a price. CrowdStrike expects the acquisition to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027, ending January 31, 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
