Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic reported that assets stolen from Binance on Oct. 29 moved through about 12,000 wallets across 11 blockchains in under four days. Its analysis tracked more than 40,000 transactions following the $6.43 billion theft. Elliptic said the transfer patterns pointed to conventional automated scripts, not evidence of AI agents making decisions.
As of Nov. 2, Elliptic estimated that about $3.24 billion remained in theft-linked addresses and reported that $2.85 billion had been frozen. Swapping one cryptocurrency for another does not itself show that the stolen assets were cashed out. The FBI attributed the theft to North Korea on Oct. 31.
